GoalAlternative Treatment Systems: Not every site is suitable for a conventional leach field. There are alternative options that may be a more sensible solution.  This workshop will discuss the various alternative treatment solutions, from packed bed media filters, biofilters, textile filters, aerobic treatment units, etc.  Learn the advantages and disadvantages as well as design considerations on these systems.

Shared Septic Systems: The Last Resort:  Whether it is site limitations, zoning ordinances, or whatever other challenges may limit the installation of individual private on-site wastewater treatment systems, shared systems may provide viable solutions. This session will provide an overview from different perspectives from design, permitting, and maintenance and management of dealing with shared systems.
