Onsite Electrical & Pumps | Choosing the Correct System for the Site

Date: Tuesday, April 30, 2019
Check-in:  7:30 AM | Workshop 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Location: Iowa State Extension Building, 824 Flindt Dr., Suite 101, Storm Lake IA
Instructor:  Tom Fritts, Residential Sewage Treatment Company
Continuing Education: Approved for 6.0 hours for the CIOWTS credential and Time of Transfer Inspectors

Goal:   Onsite Electrical and Pumps - Today’s onsite wastewater systems are much different than those designed and installed as recently as 20 years ago. The most used systems of the past were usually septic tank to gravity distribution. Today there are many systems designed and installed using pressure distribution which requires a pump and electricity. This class will deliver a basic understanding of electricity, wiring, pump selection and Pump sizing.

Choosing the Correct System for the Site - Who decides what type of system should be installed? And what are the different choices that are out there? Too many times the decisions are not made for the best reasons. This class will go over most all types of systems that are available today. We will learn why some systems are a better fit than others. A review of systems from basic gravity to drip irrigation mound systems will be covered using the “Onsite Café Menu”.
