TEST - Certified Installer of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (CIOWTS) Credential
The completed application must be submitted prior to December 1st, 2025. A confirmation will be sent via email approximately one (1) week prior to the test date. The counties in Iowa that require the CIOWTS credential use the Basic Level. If you report to the test location after the exam start time, admission to the exam is not guaranteed and all examination fees will be forfeited. If a no-show, no refund is given for the test fee.
NOTE: If less than one (1) year of onsite wastewater installation experience, completion of the Installation Overview Course is required.
Friday, December 12 Test check-in from 1:00 – 1:15 PM, instructions at 1:15 PM
Test will start at 1:30 PM – Basic (2-hour time limit)
Please be sure to bring a small hand-held calculator and two #2 pencils.
Test Fee: BASIC LEVEL Member: $184.00 | Non-member: *$209.00
* CIOWTS Test fees are based on membership in IOWWA. *If you are not a current member, you can join IOWWA at www.iowwa.com/pages/membershipapplication. Membership is not the same as the CIOWTS credential. Membership is yearly and is optional. Joining now will provide IOWWA membership for the 2025 IOWWA membership year.
Cancellation: A refund will be given if written notice is received at least 7 days prior to the event. A $50 processing fee will be assessed. No refunds for cancellations received after the 7-day period.
